Data Protection Notice
Transparency about personal data processing in Tody.
1. Purpose of this notice
This notice provides transparency about personal data processing in Tody, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and similar laws, including Turkey's KVKK where applicable.
2. Data controller
The developer of Tody is the data controller for any personal data you voluntarily provide (for example, when sending feedback). For data stored only on your device and not transmitted to the developer, you remain in control of that data on your device.
3. Categories of data
- Content you create: task names, notes in drafts, completion history
- Usage data stored locally: streak counts, daily summaries, language setting, notification preferences, insights-related stats derived from local focus history (including dated completion and postpone/skip outcomes used for Insights)
- Subscription status: local cache of whether Tody Plus is active (authoritative status comes from Apple StoreKit)
- Optional contact data: only if you send feedback by email
- Anonymous usage analytics: event names and device/app metadata sent via TelemetryDeck (not task titles or draft text)
4. Legal bases (GDPR)
- Contract / service delivery: processing necessary to provide App functionality on your device
- Legitimate interests: improving the App via anonymous usage analytics, improving stability, and responding to feedback you send
- Consent: where you voluntarily send feedback or choose optional actions
5. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing of personal data, and to data portability. Because most data stays on your device, you can erase it immediately via Home screen → Settings → Reset everything. For feedback you sent by email, contact us to request deletion where applicable.
6. International transfers
Task content is not transferred to the developer's servers. Anonymous usage analytics may be processed by TelemetryDeck under its privacy policy (https://telemetrydeck.com/privacy). If you email feedback, that transmission uses your mail provider and may involve cross-border processing by that provider. Purchase and subscription data are processed by Apple.
7. Retention
Task content, planning history, streak history, preferences, and related on-device data are kept until you reset or delete the App. An active Tody Plus subscription is managed by Apple and is not cancelled by Reset everything. For Tody Plus Insights, most metrics use about the last 90 days of local focus history, and related insights task events older than about 90 days may be removed automatically. Feedback emails are kept only as long as needed to respond and maintain support records.
8. Security
The developer implements reasonable measures in the App design. You should protect your device with a passcode and keep your operating system updated.
9. Complaints
You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe your rights have been violated.
