Privacy Policy
How Tody handles your information.
1. Introduction
Tody (“the App”) is a daily task and focus companion. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the App. The developer does not operate user accounts or cloud storage for your tasks.
2. Data we process
The App stores the following on your device only:
- Task titles and drafts you enter
- Daily planning and focus progress
- Streak history
- Language preference
- Notification preferences
- Insights stats derived from your local task history
- A local cache of whether Tody Plus is active
The App does not automatically collect your name, email address, phone number, or precise location.
3. How data is used
Stored data is used solely to provide App features such as planning three daily tasks, focus mode, streak tracking, carry-over between days, optional local reminders, insights, Home Screen widget updates, language display, and unlocking Tody Plus features when you have an active subscription. Data is not used for advertising or sold to third parties.
4. Where data is stored
All App data remains on your device in local storage (UserDefaults and, where applicable, an App Group shared with the Tody Focus widget). It is not transmitted to the developer's servers because the App has no backend.
5. Purchases and Apple
If you subscribe to Tody Plus, payment processing and subscription status are handled by Apple through the App Store / StoreKit. The developer does not receive your full payment card details. Apple may process purchase-related information under Apple's privacy policy. The App stores only a local entitlement cache so Plus features can work offline until the next StoreKit refresh.
6. Feedback you choose to send
If you use Send feedback in Home screen → Settings, the App opens your device's Mail app with a message you compose. The developer receives only what you choose to send. Sending feedback is optional.
7. Third parties
The App includes the Lottie library for animations. That library does not receive your task content. Apple system services (App Store, Mail, notifications, widgets) apply their own privacy policies when you use them.
8. Retention and deletion
Data remains on your device until you delete it. You can erase local App data at any time via Home screen → Settings → Reset everything, which restores planning and preference data to a first-launch-like state. An active Tody Plus subscription is managed by Apple and is not cancelled by Reset everything; entitlement is re-checked with StoreKit after reset. Uninstalling the App also removes local data.
9. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes
This policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the App and in the “Last updated” date shown with this document.
